Matteo Vianello is an architect and a PhD researcher in Architecture. He approaches the study of landscape theories by writing and curating academic and non-academic publications. His research activity is focused on the relationship between ecologies and project, through the study of representations and perceptions of the landscape in Modern history.
He is now post-doc researcher at Iuav Università di Venezia, studying the ecologic consequences of hydroelectric infrastructure on fiume Piave.
He conducted his PhD research on the theories of urbanization between oceans, seas and land. The thesis will be published by Jovis on 2026.
He taught architectural composition and theories of architecture at Università di Genova DAD, for the course Coastal design and others extreme environments.
He is going to publish a 6 month research on glaciers and their rapresentation funded by Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche. The book will be published in 2025 by Wetlands, with the title Primo Bollettino Dei Ghiacciai Estinti.
He is occasionally helps to the settlement of Unfolding Pavilion every year.
He works and lives in Venezia.
